Curators for VU27 is Tora Endestad Bjørkheim and Gerd Endestad.
Tora Endestad Bjørkheim and Gerd Endestad will based on the applications make a selection of artists they would like to collaborate with towards Vestlandsutstillingen 2027. Curators are free to select other works from the applicants, outside of their original proposals included in the applications.

Gerd Endestad (b. 1960) graduated from The Art Academy of Oslo and Bergen, where she was majoring in Metal, and Furniture and Space Design / Interior Architecure. She is interested in interpersonal states, for communication, resonance and power – concepts that encompass multiple participants. In her own artistic practice, she has mainly been working with sculpture, installation and photography, and in more recent years with Japanese woodcuts / mokuhanga.
Tora Endestad Bjørkheim (b. 1986) has a BA and MA from The Art Academy of Bergen. Her own works explore the textile crafting techniques’ potential to create and maintain both emotional and social spaces. Her works are both a form of image production and a production of partially functional objects, where the aim is to create dispacements in the relation between what is functional, and something more related to visual qualities of an object. Henceforth, she seeks to create a bodily and emotional awareness, within and around the exhibition itself.
Vestlandsutstillingen er ei årleg turnerande utstilling sidan 1922 med verk av kunstnarar som har tilknyting til Vestlandet. Utstillinga skal vise fram samtidskunst av høg kvalitet som speglar den vestlandske kunstscena slik den føregår i lokale, nasjonale og internasjonale kontekstar ut mot resten av landet.
Som einaste kuraterte landsdelsutstilling blir søkjarar til Vestlandsutstillingen kvart år etter open utlysing vurdert av profesjonelle kuratorar eller kunstnarar. Eineste krav er at ein har ei tilknytting til Vestlandet. Det kan innebere at ein er fødd her, har vakse opp, studert eller vore permanent busett ein periode i eitt av fylka Rogaland, Vestland eller Møre og Romsdal.
